It’s been 30 years since the masked Ghostface killer’s on-screen debut in the iconic slasher film that launched a franchise. Scream has veered in many directions since, but with Scream 7, it goes back to its roots: Final Girl Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) versus Ghostface.
The seventh installment also brings back Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding as twins Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin, and the legendary Matthew Lillard as Stu Macher from the first film.
If a “hearty dose of nostalgia,” as Mashable’s entertainment editor puts it, is what you’re after, Scream 7 serves it up on a platter. But there’s also plenty of new ideas, reveals, and scares to keep it fresh.
