The Moon is starting to reappear more each night as we work through the lunar cycle. We’re still in the waxing Crescent phase, which means the illuminated portion is growing a little more each night.
What is today’s Moon phase?
As of Monday, Aug. 17, NASA’s Daily Moon Guide tracker tells us the Moon phase is in Waxing Crescent phase, with 24% of its surface visible.
Without any visual aids, tonight you can see the Mares Crisium and Fecunditatis. With binoculars or a telescope you’ll also be able to see the Endymion Crater.
When is the next Full Moon?
The next Full Moon will take place on August 28.
