A.J. Ewing’s results have lagged, but Mets officials do not seem alarmed by his drop-off in production this month.
The rookie outfielder entered Friday with a .165/.240/.209 slash line for August that had dropped his OPS for the season to .667 before going 0-for-4 in the Mets’ 3-1 loss to the Astros at Citi Field.
And yet, interim manager Andy Green has accentuated the positives.
