Police in Davie, Florida, are reversing course after originally saying that an investigation into Geno Smith over an alleged battery had been closed, now saying that it is “being further investigated.”
Officers from the Davie Police Department had been called to the Jets quarterback’s Florida home around 4:40 p.m. Sunday for the alleged battery, but a spokesperson could not provide further details about the incident.
The spokesperson initially told The California Post’s Ed Lewis that “no one was taken into custody on scene” and the investigation had been closed.
