AirPods with built-in cameras have been the subject of rumors for years, but now we have evidence that Apple is really working on these, and that they’re probably coming very soon.
The latest macOS Tahoe 26.7 beta contains a video that shows the device in action (via MacRumors). The short video demos how a user could save real-life visuals using Apple’s Visual Intelligence with the help of AirPods.

In the video, a man wearing AirPods (and seemingly no other wearable) looks at a book. “With Visual Intelligence, your world becomes saveable. See something you like? Just ask me to save it for later,” a video voiceover says.
