DOMESTIC FUEL PRICES are likely to remain above prewar levels through yearend amid renewed escalation of the Middle East war and a stronger dollar, the Department of Energy (DoE) said on Monday.
Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin noted that global oil prices remain highly volatile as the Middle East war drags on.
“With the currency exchange, with the situation in the Middle East, we expect that within the year, hindi pa siya bababa sa level na prewar (oil prices will not ease back to the prewar level),” Ms. Garin told reporters on the sidelines of a House briefing on Monday.
