Canon Marketing (Philippines) Inc. on Thursday unveiled the new EOS R6 V, a hybrid camera designed for content creators that allows footage to be reframed into various aspect ratios from a single recording. The company also announced details of its Canon Creator Camp and Campus Tour events.
The EOS R6 V can record footage in the 7K Open Gate format, allowing a single video clip to be cropped and reformatted into different aspect ratios from a single shoot.
“So basically, Open Gate records in the full sensor size, 3:2… and then you can resize it to 16:9, 9:16, and even 1:1, without having any loss in the quality of the footage,” JV Ruanto, senior product manager at Canon Marketing (Philippines) Inc., said during the launch event.
