Wisp, Origin partner to expand women’s healthcare access

Women’s telehealth company Wisp and female pelvic floor and physical therapy company Origin announced a partnership to allow their members to access each other’s services.
Wisp offers same-day appointments for women seeking treatment for sexual and reproductive health tools. Patients can connect with a licensed medical provider and, if needed, obtain a prescription for same-day in-person pickup or home delivery. The company offers treatment for reproductive health, vaginal health, prevention, weight care, hormonal health and more.
Hybrid care provider Origin provides physical therapy for the pelvic floor and the whole body to improve sexual health during pregnancy, postpartum and menopause. The company provides physical therapy for pregnancy and birth preparation, postpartum recovery, diastasis recti, bladder and bowel control, pelvic organ prolapse, endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) pain, and vaginoplasty prep and recovery.
Through the partnership, Wisp members will have access to the full breadth of Origin’s offerings, including therapies for postpartum healing, improving pain during sex, pre-pregnancy strengthening, and symptoms associated with vaginal infections, such as urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Additionally, Origin patients will get a discount to use Wisp’s offerings, including fertility and menopause products and UTI and sexually transmitted infection (STI) care.
“At Wisp, we remain steadfast in our commitment to breaking down barriers around taboo topics that are too often tied to overlooked women’s health topics and conditions. We’re able to do this successfully, in part, because of the strategic partnerships we form with other like-minded, female-focused companies in the space,” Monica Cepak, Wisp CEO, told MobiHealthNews in an email.
“This collaboration with Origin is no different, as we look to provide our patients with 360-degree care, now offering a holistic approach to pelvic health and ensuring women have the resources and support they need to better manage and treat things like persistent UTIs, postpartum healing, painful sex and more.”
THE LARGER TREND
As part of MobiHealthNews’ 2024 year-in-review series, where digital health executives revealed their biggest takeaways from the year, Cepak predicted that women’s healthcare will continue to evolve, with a focus on reproductive rights and access to care in a post-Roe world.
She said advances in telehealth, wearables and AI are empowering women to take control of their health while growing attention is being given to chronic conditions like PCOS and endometriosis, perimenopause and menopause.
Last year, Wisp announced a partnership with food as medicine platform Nourish to allow Wisp patients to access nutrition counseling services via their health insurance or by paying an exclusive self-pay rate.
