The Department of Education (DepEd) on Monday targets to address gaps in special needs education (SNED) by creating 133 plantilla positions to support learners with disabilities (LWDs) nationwide.
“We need to ensure that people with the right knowledge and skills are available to support every child with a disability so they can learn, participate, and thrive,” Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara said in Filipino in a news release.
“This is what we aim to strengthen through these new positions,” he added.
Of the 133 posts, 128 will be part of multidisciplinary teams providing specialized support to learners with disabilities (LWDs) across 32 Inclusive Learning Resource Centers (ILRCs) under DepEd’s Schools Division Offices.
