Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet announced that Filip Chytil has entered NHL concussion protocol after No. 72 was forced to leave Saturday night’s game in Vancouver with 4:42 remaining in the third period after taking an unpenalized check from behind from Chicago’s Jason Dickinson.
Chytil, who had sustained four previously recorded concussions during his eight-year stay in the Rangers organization, has six points (2-4) in 15 games since the Jan. 31 trade featuring J.T. Miller.
Vancouver is scheduled to be at the Garden next Saturday afternoon to close a Blueshirts home stand that began with Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to the Oilers and will continue with the Flames, Maple Leafs and Canucks due on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
