The last time Coco Gauff made it to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open, the young American won the whole dang thing.
Gauff still has yet to drop a set as she secured her place among the final eight women’s singles players in Flushing on Monday night after bouncing compatriot Iva Jovic 6-1, 6-4 inside Arthur Ashe Stadium.
After failing to make it out of the fourth round in each of her last two U.S. Open appearances, Gauff will face the No. 5 seed Mirra Andreeva next.
