Strictly star Russell Grant shared a scary health update while revealing there’s “no cure” for his condition.
The 72-year-old astrologer underwent a five-hour surgery in 2022 to have a benign tumour removed from his brain.
Months after revealing that his Type 2 diabetes had returned, Russell was rushed to the hospital over a medical emergency.

On Thursday (January 30), the Strictly star told his fans about being rushed to the hospital on Monday.
Recounting the scary experience, the astrologer wrote: “Monday: I woke with strange cottony things floating in my left eye. Headed to the opticians for tests. Next day @BlackpoolHosp called: day after into the eye clinic. Result: I had a bleed behind my eye but no retinal damage but it seems I have to befriend the floater! No cure.” [sic]
He also thanked the “incredible healthcare team” for taking great care of him during the emergency appointment.
Russel added: “A huge thank you to Tina @eyesatwooding who found me an emergency appointment with Fatima @Specsavers and the incredible healthcare team @BlackpoolHosp @BlackpoolHospED ophthalmology dept and Mr Malik.
“It was a New Moon so I knew all would be well. Thank you, everyone.” [sic]
While talking to The Mirror in November 2023, the Strictly star seemed optimistic about his future. Although his pituitary gland tumour was benign, it was pressing on his optic nerve. If untreated, it could cause permanent blindness in him.
Following the surgery, he shared: “It’s reminded me that every day is precious and every day I need to do something that is important – not just for me but for the wider world.”
